1. Recite the blessing:


Blessing for the counting of the omer
   Baruch atah adonay eloheynu melech ha'olam asher kidshanu
   bemitzvotav vetzivanu al sefirat ha'omer

Blessed are you, ETERNAL, our God, the sovereign of all worlds, who has
  made us holy with your mitzvot
  and commanded us concerning the counting of the Omer.

2. Count the Homer:

 
Hey, there's nothing new about the new moon.

Hayom shishah-asar yom, sh'hem shnei shavuot ushnei yamim la'omer.
Today is the sixteenth day, making two weeks and two days of the Omer.
Rosh Hodesh Iyyar (the new month of Iyyar)
